The Office of Lottery and Gaming (OLG) has announced that FanDuel's sports betting app and website has officially launched today. This development will introduce FanDuel’s sports wagering platform to District residents and visitors, completely replacing the current GambetDC sports betting app and website.

“With FanDuel’s launch, D.C. residents and visitors will have access to a best-in-class sports wagering platform,” said Frank Suarez, Executive Director of OLG. “FanDuel’s entry into our market brings not only a reliable, customer-friendly sports wagering experience to the nation’s capital, but it also includes guaranteed revenue that will be used to fund vital city programs.”

FanDuel’s sports wagering platform will be available to all users over the age of 18 within the geographic boundaries of the District of Columbia, except for specific areas where gambling is prohibited. These restricted areas include a two-block radius surrounding designated Class A facilities (Audi Field, Capital One Arena, Nationals Park, and St. Elizabeths East Entertainment and Sports Arena) and all federal lands, including the National Mall, White House, Capitol, Congressional office buildings, East Potomac Park, and Rock Creek Park.

The current GambetDC platform will remain fully operational until April 15, when it will stop accepting wagers. Current GambetDC users can follow these steps to transition to the FanDuel platform:

Players can find additional information about transitioning to FanDuel here.

In addition to the improvements to user experience, the new partnership with FanDuel brings immediate financial benefit to the District, including an initial $5M payment within the current fiscal year. For more information about the benefits to the District, visit here.

OLG will maintain its strong commitment to responsible gaming oversight. All users will now have access to FanDuel’s industry-leading problem gambling prevention, education, and advocacy resources. The FanDuel platform offers built-in app safeguards, allowing customers to set deposits, wagers, and time limits for their play.
