Washington, D.C. – The D.C. Lottery is celebrating the 20-year milestone of America’s Game with the launch of $2 POWERBALL and a special promotion. Commemorating two decades of turning everyday players into multimillionaires, the POWERBALL game is changing to make more millionaires, offer bigger jackpots, and better odds of winning any of the nine prizes available. Beginning on January 15, 2012, when the cost of a POWERBALL ticket will be $2 with the jackpot starting at $40 million, players who purchase $4 of POWERBALL on a single ticket will receive a free $1 Mega Millions tickets.
