Ward 4 Councilmember Muriel Bowser assisted D.C. Lottery VIPs in the presentation of the ceremonial commission check for $10,000. A throng of neighbors came out to meet the winner, participate in D.C. Lottery giveaways, and to check out the winning location.

“Sales have perked since the big POWERBALL win,” affirms Hassen. He and his family journeyed to the US from Ethiopia nearly 20 years ago. They own and operate two convenience stores located in Ward 4. Hassen has been a D.C. Lottery agent for more than eight years with a full range of D.C. Lottery sales inventory available at both stores. “The lottery is a big part of my sales.”
