Washington, DC – Tonight, center ice at the Capital One Arena, the DC Lottery player Keith Brigman was made $25,000 richer during the agency’s first ever On Ice Challenge. The contest was held during the second intermission of the Washington Capitals vs. the Montreal Canadiens game.

A first for the DC Lottery, the On Ice Challenge was the second chance grand prize opportunity associated with the 2018 Stanley Cup Champions’ scratcher ticket. Mr. Brigman’s entry was chosen among more than 17,000 submissions. With a guaranteed prize of $25,000 and the chance to win up to $50,000, his challenge was to pick one of ten oversized 2018 Stanley Cup Champions’ scratcher tickets placed at center ice. Only one choice would reveal the $50,000 top prize. With excited hockey fans cheering him on, Mr. Brigman chose “lucky number seven.” The $50,000 prize was with ticket number three.

“We’re thrilled to bring stirring winning opportunities like the On Ice Challenge to our players,” says Director of Marketing Nicole Jordan. “This is a great partnership with Monumental Sports and Entertainment that resulted in bringing the commemorative scratcher ticket to the fans as well as the second chance opportunities that were made available. We’re always looking to bring more ways to win to DC Lottery players.”

A business owner and former volunteer with DC high schools, Mr. Brigman exclaimed, “I’m excited to win tonight! I’m using the money to help with my daughter’s tuition.” He particularly enjoys the second chance contests with the DC Lottery for chances to win cash prizes and experiences like the On Ice Challenge.

Launched in October 2018, the 2018 Stanley Cup Champions’ scratcher ticket honors the Washington Capitals historic national hockey championship win. The $5 game has more than half a million dollars in instant cash prizes remaining, including one $50,000 top prize.
